“They were telling me, ‘Dang, you’re right at your career high,’ which is 34 points,” related Boston Celtics star forward Jaylen Brown of his 42-point career night against the Memphis Grizzlies Wednesday.
“I gave [head coach Brad Stevens] a little wink [and said] ‘Brad, can I get two more minutes? Let me go back out there.’ With that kind of responsibility Brad gave me, I wanted to make sure I still played basketball the right way,” he added. And while some of the shots Brown was taking would have been inadvisable under normal circumstances, it was very clear that the Georgia native was not having a normal game.
If you missed Brown hanging 42 points on an undermanned Grizzlies squad, or just want to relive the outspoken forward hitting shots like the hoop was as wide as an ocean, watch the video embedded above.
