Chicago Bulls dealing with COVID-19 cases, will be shorthanded vs. Blazers originally appeared on NBC Sports Northwest

If the Blazers (3-3) were not heavy favorites against the Chicago Bulls (3-4) already, Portland will be now.

Chicago has been dealing with a COVID-19 scare within the organization including positive tests for Tomas Satoransky and a team support-staff member, according to head coach Billy Donovan.

Additionally, the Bulls have released its injury report ahead of Tuesday’s clash with the Blazers at the Moda Center: Ryan Arcidiacono (health and safety protocols), Chandler Hutchison (not with team – self isolating), Lauri Markkanen (health and safety protocols) and Tomas Satoransky (not with team – self isolating) are out.

Hutchison and Markkanen have all been a part of the Bulls regular-season rotation. On the season, Markkanen has averaged 17.3 points and 6.8 rebounds and Hutchison has averaged 3.3 points and 4.3 rebounds in 13.0 minutes per gamer (4 appearances).

“That’s gonna be the biggest thing as we go forward here is what happens with some of these guys that are unavailable and in the safety protocol,” Donovan said. “What happens when they get lifted and when they have clearance and those kind of things.”

The Trail Blazers are 10-point favorites over the Bulls entering Tuesday’s game, odds provided by PointsBet.

The Portland Trail Blazers host the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday, January 5th at 7:30 p.m. PT here on NBC Sports NW, the official home of the Portland Trail Blazers.
